I recently had the chance to photograph a selection of headbands for an Etsy store called Zimbali. Zimbali’s headbands range from tiny and delicate (I adore her little button halos) to luxurious and vintage-inspired. I love to use them for newborn portrait sessions, but they would also make a fantastic baby shower gift for a friend expecting a baby girl.
Colette was the perfect model for the headbands. She was less than a week old, and oh-so-tiny. She had a long drive to the studio, but she slept like an angel for the two hours I spent posing her and changing backdrops to coordinate with the various looks she wore. She even let me snuggle her a bit between setups, which is always one of my favorite things about being a newborn photographer.
