Janeal has been one of my good friends for almost as long as I can remember. When I was 8 years old, my family moved from Nevada to Arizona. Janeal and I met when our families had a get-together at a local Mexican restaurant (oh, how I miss authentic Mexican food!!), and we’ve been friends ever since. I’ve moved around a lot since high school (from AZ back to UT, back to AZ, and then BACK to UT, and finally here to the Raleigh-Durham area), but we’ve always kept in touch throughout the years. Facebook has definitely made it easier to keep up with old friends.![]()
It was so good to spend some time catching up with her when I had the chance to visit Phoenix a few weeks ago with my mom. It’s crazy to think about how much things have changed – we both have husbands, and families, and financial responsibilities, and and and… But she hasn’t changed THAT much – she’s still one of the most beautiful, approachable people I’ve ever met. And I’m still jealous of all her hair.![]()
Janeal asked me to photograph her family while I was there. It was a whirlwind trip (babysitting twin nephews while trying to visit as many friends as possible is a lot of work), and we didn’t have time to scout out locations, so we decided to keep it simple and take advantage of the shady areas in her backyard.
I think everyone needs an up-to-date portrait with their spouse.
